Wieliczka Salt Mine

 
Mine “Wieliczka” Salt is counting today more than 700 years the oldest Polish company. In 1978 he was on the honorable and UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Annually visited by over a million tourists from around the world.

In the mine over the centuries developed a special microclimate with therapeutic – there prevails a constant temperature of 14 degrees Celsius. Mine is an intricate maze, which consists of tunnels with a total length of over 300 km, 3,000 chambers and 9 floors, the last of which is at a depth of 327 meters.

Two-kilometer guided tour includes 22 chambers connected by tunnels. Our guide will take visitors around the ancient windows, show mining equipment, puzzling salt lakes, sculptures and reliefs, as well as doing the extraordinary impression of the Holy chamber. Kinga.

People tired underground walk can relax and enjoy a meal at the restaurant located at the very end of the route.
The whole trip takes about 4 hours. It begins and ends at the Matejko Square 2 (3 min. Walk from the apartments) where tour participants waiting for the pilot.
